Victorian Mandolin
This is a late Victorian mandolin with a makers label inside reading PIETRO TOWELI NAPLES. The case is predominantly rosewood, with ebony and boxwood lined inlays. It has eight strings and all its original ivory adjusters, which still work perfectly. It would appear not to have had a lot of use, if the condition is anything to go by it has certainly been well looked after with only a small shrinkage crack on the underside. The original box is in poor order but could be made better. Bought and kept by me 30 years ago in the hope that an offspring might have a musical leaning. I'll be sad to see it go.
